Our Impact (to date)
WomensTrust provides wrap-around support—often from primary school through tertiary education—ensuring that girls grow into confident, educated, and economically independent women.
- 36 beneficiaries have graduated from tertiary institutions
- 37 beneficiaries currently enrolled in tertiary institutions
- 47 beneficiaries in Senior High School
- 96 beneficiaries in Basic School
- Primary: 18
- Junior High: 78
- Over 2,600 girls have participated in our After-School Programs in Mathematics, English and Information Communication and Technology (ICT)
- An average of 65 students attend weekly After-School sessions in English, Math, and ICT
- Over 2,000 women entrepreneurs supported with microfinance soft loans
- 484 adults supported through our Adult Literacy Program
- 117 women trained in vocational skills
More than 5,000 women have received preventive healthcare, screenings, medication, and health education
Milestones Through the Years
- 2003 – WomensTrust founded
- 2004 – Scholars Program (Basic School) launched
- 2005 – Microloan Program launched
- 2006 – National Health Insurance support added for loan beneficiaries
- 2007 – Partnership with UMASS nurses; 3,000 women receive health screenings
- 2008 – ICT After-School Program begins; 3,200 malaria nets distributed
- 2009 – Two classrooms built at Nii Otto Kwame Basic School
- 2010 – Over 2,300 loan clients served
- 2014 – Scholars Program expanded to include Tertiary level
- 2016 – Adult Literacy and Mathematics After-School Programs launched
- 2017 – Community health education and vocational beading program introduced
- 2018 – Community health screening; After-School English Program launched
- 2021 – Liquid detergent vocational training introduced
- 2022 – Graduate Alumni Network launched
- 2023 – Scholars Program expanded to 10 additional public schools; 20th Anniversary celebration; first WT scholar admitted to law school
- 2024 – Healthy Adolescent Drive begins, providing sanitary pads to basic school girls
- 2025 – Matching grant awarded by the New Africa Fund (NAF)
- 2026 – Transition to a local Ghanaian Board
