ABOUT US
Founded in 2003 by Dana Dakin, WomensTrust is a non-profit organization empowering women and girls in Ghana to overcome barriers to education, opportunity, and well-being. Inspired by the belief that life is lived in thirds—you learn, you earn, and then you return—WomensTrust began as one of the first organizations to provide microfinance to underprivileged women in Ghana, standing firmly against predatory lending.
As our communities grew and their needs became clearer, we listened and evolved. In 2015, we transitioned our microfinance work and refocused on education – the foundation for lasting change. Today, through education scholarships, adult literacy, skills training, and mentoring, WomensTrust is helping girls and women move from limited choices to limitless possibilities. In just one generation, dreams have become expectations.
